Aging Drivers - Assessment Program

Enhance Your Driving Confidence:

Expert Assessments for Senior Drivers

Who Can Benefit?

Our driving assessment program is tailored for:

- Drivers aged 60 and above;
- Those wishing to refresh their driving skills and knowledge;
- Individuals needing assistance with a new vehicle; or
- Drivers seeking to boost their confidence.

Everyone's driving ability changes over time, influenced by various factors. A driving assessment helps pinpoint how and why your driving is changing and provides guidance on maintaining safe driving practices for as long as possible.

A driver assessment, along with any recommended refresher training, can improve the safety and enjoyment of your driving. It can also help you save money by reducing cost involved with your vehicle such as wear and tear, potentially extending the lifespan of your car!

What Does the Assessment Provide?

This confidential and informal driving assessment aims to enhance your current driving skills. There is no pass or fail aspect.

Our assessors will observe your driving in familiar traffic conditions and offer recommendations to ensure your ongoing safety.

Where is the Assessment Conducted?

The assessment is conducted from your home, using your own vehicle. It is carried out by myself. I am a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). Im trained and experienced in working with older drivers.

Cost of the Driving Assessment

Each assessment session lasts about 60 minutes and costs £45.

Why Consider a Driving Skills Assessment?

Driving is a high-risk activity, and small improvements in skills or awareness can significantly enhance safety.

While older drivers tend to have fewer accidents than younger drivers, age can impact one's ability to handle certain driving situations. Our professional assessors can help identify and address any risks, helping you remain safe on the road.

Please note, this service is a skills-based assessment and does not evaluate medical fitness to drive.

What to Expect During the Assessment

- Conducted by a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
- Takes place in your own vehicle in a comfortable and relaxed setting.
- Begins from your home or a preferred location of your choice.
- Includes a safety check and some preliminary questions. Your driving licence and eyesight (20m number plate reading) will also be checked.
- The assessment lasts approximately 60 minutes, with breaks as needed.
- Tailored to your specific needs, including a variety of road types such as urban, rural, and dual carriageways.
- You are welcome to have a friend or family member accompany you.
- This is not a test. After the drive, the assessor will give verbal feedback and provide a written report on your driving. You will receive this report within a few weeks. Additional support and advice, or further assessments, may be recommended based on your needs.

20 Years Of Experience in Driver Training

I started out my driver training career on London buses! I was a classroom based trainer and assessor before I become an instructor out on the road.

I have passed many driving tests in my career, including car (of course!), bus and lorries. I have also been lucky enough to have passed an advanced driving test and have several driving and teaching related qualifications.

My Mission

I want you to be the safest driver you can be! the tests aren’t the end goal, they are part of the journey. you’ll learn everything you will need in order to be a safe (and great) driver!

My Vision

Id love our roads to be some of the safest roads in the world. this starts with you! Just being able to drive a car is great, but I want people I learn mot drive to be safe drivers. I want you to be great at driving. I don’t want your car to be an extension of your feet, I want the car to be an extension of you! Too many people get hurt or killed on out road every year, and I want this statistic to improve. Click to find out more.
